The Joplin Eagles
Joplin finished their 2008 season with a 9-7 loss to Neosho in the first round of district play in Springfield on Monday. The Eagles left six runners on base in the final three innings as they were unable to get the big hit when needed.
That will do it for this seasons Joplin sports broadcasts on 1230 The Fan. Special thanks to Kevin Welch for all of his passion and fine work as always. The Next Eagles broadcast on 1230 The Fan comes your way on August 29th as football season kicks-off.

Back home!

7-21-08
2:58pm
Lunch took longer than expected and so did the players and coaches but we are underway in Kansas City with the 2008 Big 12 media days.
On tonights Press Box you'll hear from Mizzou safety William Moore, quarterback Chase Daniel and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Jesse and I will be joined live by Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel as well as Fox Sports college football analyst Dave Lapham and ESPN's Joe Schad. So a huge show for you that hits the air at 4pm.
Everything seems to be busines as usual for the Missouri Tigers going into 08'.
All-American candidate William Moore says his shoulder is 100% and he's ready to go.
Senior signal-caller Chase Daniel, when asked if he was the best QB in the country-without hesitation said...yes. He looks at the 2008 season as an opportunity to further place his and this teams stamp as the best Missouri Tiger team in history and a national title conender this year. Without a doubt he wants the country to know that last season was no fluke.

Greetings from the beautiful Downtown Mariott in Kansas City.
Today Dave and I broke some rules... and it paid dividends. Instead of going upstairs and sitting in an empty room until the National TV Media was finished with the coaches and players, we roamed the lobby downstairs and were able to grab interviews from Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, Kansas linebacker Mike Rivera, and Colorado Defensive tackle George 'The Rabid Goldfish' Hypolite. Hypolite may be the funniest athlete at the event, you will love some of the sound bytes he gave us!
Tuesday has been much more productive as we still have "appointments" with Colorado head man Dan Hawkins and Nebraska play-by-play voice Greg Sharp. Make sure you listen to The Press Box tomorrow from 4-6! Dave and I will wrap up our visit here and continue our D-1 football forecast with, you guessed it, the Big 12.
Sorry to end this so abruptly, but there is a hamburger and/or hot dog calling my name down the hall. We'll talk to you again in a little while.

Wednesday July 23
Well, we couldn't stay in KC for a third straight day-so Jesse and I are back home now and ready to blow out the Big 12 for you tonight on the Press Box between 4p-6p!
Great interviews are coming your way including Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins, KU head man Mark Mangino, Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy (who proposed something out of left field yesterday that we'll talk about tonight in regards to Big 12 scheduling), Mizzou's Chase Daniel, Jeremy Maclin and William Moore. Plus a look at the Nebraska Cornhuskers with the voice of Husker nation Greg Sharpe.
Oh, and by the way. Dan Hawkins does look like Nick Nolte. Find out what he says about that comparison tonight on the Press Box right here on 1230 The Fan!
